Printer issue

When I right clicked on the XPS printer icon in Printers, there was a message box when I clicked on properties that said, I should restart the system or the printer spooling. It was a weird experience, because when I printed a notepad with my name on it, a message box said printing 1 ... The printer didn't print anything that I noticed though.
