Problem: When I try to turn on my desktop computer, the internal parts make a beeping noise and windows OS does not start up. I was having this problem on Sunday.
Hypothesis: I removed my DVD drive and tried to replace it with a CD drive. The CD drive turned out to be incompatible with this desktop so I removed it and turned my computer back on when I started having the problem. all the cords are out of the way of the fan that cools the CPU. I don't know what is causing the problem. I just finished dusting out the inside of the computer.
Research: I tried to find troubleshooting information about the beeping sound in my user manual. No information about that. I inspected the inside of my computer and I don't see anything unusual.
Procedures: As I carried the computer to my room, planning to have it checked by a professional later, I heard something loose sliding around inside. I opened the desktop again. There was a loose washer sliding around. after removing it, windows was able to load again.
Results: Apparently the loose washer was sitting on one of the internal components, a chip or something. Extra metal on the internal computer parts hinders the ability of the parts to function. Keeping it clean and free keeps the computer working normal without a beeping alert.
